Visiting and contacting us
Articles need no account. Search and filters work in your browser; there are no analytics tags, advertising pixels or contact forms. If you email us, your email provider and ours process the message. We use your address and message to answer your enquiry, based on our legitimate interest in handling correspondence or a legal obligation for statutory requests. We keep correspondence only as long as needed for that enquiry, related issues or applicable legal obligations.
Hosting and transfers
Our hosting service processes your IP address and request information on a US server to deliver and protect the website, based on our legitimate interest in operating it. We do not retain ordinary web-server access logs; the provider may process security records. Where applicable, the hosting service's transfer arrangements rely on the EU–US Data Privacy Framework, with standard contractual clauses as a fallback. Contact us for information about these safeguards.
Language selection
The general home address uses your saved language choice first, then your browser's preferred languages. It selects the first supported language, Dutch or English, and falls back to English if neither matches. This happens in your browser without a country lookup or an external language service. Direct Dutch and English links always open the requested language.
Cookies and browser storage
Browser storage remembers the language you choose until you clear this website's data. The Dutch edition also saves a choice about optional cookies, a policy version and a timestamp for 180 days. That choice does not enable optional tracking on this US English edition.
Affiliate tracking
Awin (AWIN AG, Berlin, Germany) receives connection details when you follow its referral link. This US English edition does not enable optional Awin cookie tracking: supported links remain clickable and pass along a request to keep that tracking off. A destination retailer applies its own notice; see https://www.awin.com/gb/privacy for Awin's processing. Relevant commission reports may include transaction references, order values and commissions. We use these to administer commissions under legitimate interests and accounting obligations, retaining relevant records for the applicable accounting or claims period.
Managing stored data
You can clear this website’s stored data in your browser. The Dutch edition provides controls for its optional affiliate tracking; this US English edition has no consent prompt or cookie-settings panel and does not use that permission to enable tracking here. Other websites control their own cookies and records.
Your rights
Under the applicable GDPR conditions, you may request access, correction, erasure, restriction or portability, object to processing based on legitimate interests, and withdraw consent without affecting earlier lawful processing. We update this notice when our processing changes.
